Yellowknife — Field Record 01 — Art Print
Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
62°27′14″N 114°22′18″W
Shot from the Bush Pilot's Monument in December 2025, looking out over Great Slave Lake.
Yellowknife sits at a geomagnetic latitude of roughly 69°N, far north of where its geographic latitude of 62°N would put it. Earth's magnetic pole is parked over the Canadian Arctic, and aurora follows magnetic field lines rather than lines of latitude. That's why the lights appear directly overhead here instead of low on the northern horizon.
Every Field Record is a photograph from somewhere we've actually stood, printed over map line work from that place's coordinates. A camera and a map are the two things this channel has always run on. This is what they look like on one sheet.
Unframed print, shipped rolled in a tube. Printed to order, arriving within 5–11 days. Also available framed and ready to hang.
